Pseudo-craters, Myvatn, Iceland

Pseudo-craters, Myvatn, Iceland

A prehistoric-looking scene in Northern Iceland. Whilst there are true volcanoes in the distance, the smaller foreground craters are actually pseudo-craters, formed when lava flowed over moist terrain resulting in massive explosions with crater formation. This was shot at sunset, with a lovely pink glow to the sky.
