The most extraordinary conditions resulted in these otherwise unremarkable birch trees by the banks of Loch Ba taking on this beautiful hoarfrosted appearance. The temperature dial read -10C and this combined with freezing mist produced a day of unforgettable photography. The memory is only soured by the fact that I stepped in a bog and got wet feet about 5mins after leaving the van....not good when the temp was sub-zero!
